VNRCD Local Work Group

Local Work Group meetings help determine the long-term goals of the Verde NRCD and provide funding
recommendations for projects in the Verde Valley to the Natural Resource Conservation Service.
Some of the topics on the agenda: water adjudication in the Verde Valley, viticulture and crop conversions.
Speakers include Jeff Schalau on “General Principles of Pasture Management” and Jamilah McCoy, the Arizona
Agronomist for USDA-NRCS will address “The Challenges with Inefficient Irrigation and Solutions”
